Proudly serving
South Mississippi since 1975!

Kare-In-Home is a family-owned organization that has proudly served South Mississippi since 1975. We have a proven track record of providing professional expert care with compassion and kindness.

Our staff understands that comfortable and professional home care is essential, and we believe in our commitment to our patients and the towns we live in. Since we are locally owned and operated, it is important to us to take care of the community where we live, work and play, which adds a personal touch to the healthcare that we provide.

We offer a variety of services, including home health, hospice, private duty nursing, and medical equipment. All our services are provided in the comfort and security of your own home, allowing you to remain as independent as possible while still receiving the compassionate attention you deserve

What Is Home Health?

Home Health provides skilled medical care for an illness or injury. It is our goal to help you recover, maintain your independence and improve your quality of life. Whether you or your loved one need assistance after a hospital stay, seek long-term care for a chronic condition or just require support with daily activities, Kare-In-Home Health will provide the right care specialized for your specific needs. Our home health staff consists of highly trained registered nurses, therapists, social workers and homecare aides.
We provide a variety of services including:

  • IV therapy
  • Mental health
  • Wound care
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Personal care/bathing (I still like hygiene)
  • Telemonitoring services

We believe in working with you and your physician to create a care plan that addresses your loved one’s individual needs. We have nurses available after hours and weekends to provide you with the optimal level of care. You and your loved ones will have peace of mind knowing that the very best care is being implemented in a safe and secure setting — your own home.

Hospice

The decision to turn to hospice can be a difficult experience without the right team in place to provide physical, mental and spiritual support. Kare-In-Home Hospice is there every step of the way. We can provide guidance to help you make the right decision for you and your family. Should you decide that hospice is indeed the next step, our staff is highly trained to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.

We have a team approach in care that consists of:

  • Patient’s Physician
  • Medical Director
  • Registered Nurse
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Social Worker
  • Chaplain
  • Bereavement Counseling
  • Volunteer Services

Whether or not hospice is the right choice is personal and will vary from patient to patient. However, hospice does require a physician’s recommendation, so early referral is extremely beneficial. In fact, studies have shown that transitioning to hospice during the last 60–90 days of life expectancy allows patients to feel more in control, allows for better pain and symptom management, and reduces the need for continued hospital stays and re-admittance. It can also lessen the burden on the caregiver, reducing anxiety among both family members and the patient.

Choosing hospice does not mean giving up. It allows you to enjoy the quality of life you deserve. We will listen to your concerns and develop a plan that takes your wishes into account. If a patient is active, we do everything possible to allow him or her to continue engaging in the hobbies and activities they enjoy. For more advanced patients, we provide pain management so they are able to remain as comfortable as possible.

Finally, we recognize that the scope of our support is not just limited to the patient, but also includes family and loved ones. We provide bereavement counseling during and after care to help those left behind cope with their grief.

A private duty nurse is on hand when the individual needs care the most, whether it’s just for a few hours a day or 24-hour care.

Each patient receives a personal evaluation and a customized plan of care. Our private duty staff ensures you or your loved one receive the care required while still maintaining independence. We want you to feel comfortable with your decision and with a large staff to choose from, you are sure to find someone to complement your personality. We also handle scheduling, so someone will always be there when you
need them.
